Gratitude gravel grinder Front Range Colorado

I have ridden this trail hundreds of times.  I’ve ridden it so many times that I probably take its very existance for granted.  Today was different, though.  For some unknown reason I felt compelled to stop and just take it all in.  I listened to the prairie dogs’ chatter, and exchanged a few words with a woman who was walking her dog.  I wasn’t thinking about my job, Strava, or even this blog.

And for that, I’m very grateful.

  1. Thanks for being grateful.

I’ve had to re-calibrate my mindset on a few rides lately where I wasn’t having fun. Most times it involved just riding a little bit slower. I still work to get past the parts of the ride that are stressful (due to car traffic) but then try to soak in the experience of the more quiet and green trail sections. The difference in travel time only varied by a few minutes but my state of mind was much improved.
